A time of synergy was approaching. Crystal’s new mastery of more detailed color pencil technique allowed her to create very dense and intricate backgrounds, which combined perfectly with the more refined drawing style for the characters that she had been developing at the same time. Her new Dear Deer series exemplify this confluence of styles: delicate, bold and dreamlike, with an underlying strength that gives her work the power of persuasion. And the journey continues. New worlds will unfold, new friends will join Crystal on her adventure. Even the artist herself knows not what the final destination will be.
