Focusing on new color pencil pointillist techniques, Crystal began to create more elaborate backgrounds for her character’s journeys in 2015, using patterns of natural shapes, such as leaves, complex flowers or plants. Her animals became more defined in shape and silhouette, standing out against these backgrounds, while still, somehow, being immersed in the sea of bright colors.
